College of IT has held a workshop in cooperation with Dr. Ali Al-Sherbaz – Partership Manager at the School of Science and Technology at the University of Northampton, during his visit between 16-19 January 2017 to University of Babylon. The workshop is a preparation for of the proposed Franchised program between University of Babylon College of IT and the University of Northampton in United Kingdom. The workshop discussed the virtual learning environment NILE (Northampton Integrated Learning Environment) which is a learning management system and the main items of the workshop were: Open Day, Welcome Week, Introduction to Nile, Modules Guides, Reading List, Discussion Board, Assessments (Assignment, TCA, Exam, and Deadlines), Marking (using rubrics) , double marking, Moderation process, External examiner and Partner Resource Centre. College of IT staff included the deputy dean and the heads of departments attended the workshop. Franchise program is considered one of the important steps that College of IT in University of Babylon has suggested to openthe cooperation with developed international higher education systems
